What is the Fusion Business Meeting?

The Fusion business meeting is a weekly Monday morning check-in for every REALTOR® in the brokerage. It is part accountability, part training, and part team huddle. Ownership shares the numbers, brokers walk through compliance reminders, partners drop in with mortgage and insurance updates, and the group closes with a live video caravan of that week’s new listings. The format is intentionally practical, so a newly licensed agent hears the same information a 20-year veteran does.

Professional Development

FINTRAC Training (Deadline: September 30, 2026)

Two mandatory FINTRAC courses live in the ReallyTrusted Academy app, under the Launch Academy button. Every Fusion agent needs both done by September 30, 2026, and completion certificates go to Leigha.

  • Course #1: “Express for Real Estate Agents” is 33 modules followed by one exam. Plan on 1 to 2 hours total.
  • Course #2: “Fundamentals of Anti-Financial Crime Course” is 34 videos followed by 5 exams (only 4 multiple-choice questions in each).

Anyone who does not complete both courses by September 30 will be required to attend a mandatory all-day session in the Saskatoon boardroom on Thursday, October 8 from 9 a.m. until noon, with a lunch break and then continued work until both courses are finished. Anyone still incomplete after that date is placed on the “Do Not Pay” list until they are done. This is a firm brokerage policy because FINTRAC compliance protects every agent’s licence and every client’s transaction.

Workshop Wednesdays

Workshop Wednesdays are a weekly upstairs training at the Saskatoon office. This week’s session is on Wednesday, September 16 at 10 a.m., and the topic is All Things Condo, covering bareland condos, parking spots, and more.

A quick recap of last week’s workshop on advertising guidelines:

  1. The full brokerage name (CENTURY 21 Fusion) and your trade name must appear on every advertisement or post.
  2. You can only advertise sold properties if there is no address, no details of the transaction, and no descriptive photos.
  3. Coming Soon advertising is limited to 3 days in advance and requires written permission using the Coming Soon form (available on the Fusion Google Drive).

SRA Sessions This Week

Two Saskatchewan REALTORS® Association sessions run this Wednesday, September 16, and both will also be shown live upstairs at the Saskatoon office:

  • Federal Tax Essentials for new REALTORS® at 10 a.m. via Zoom, covering CRA accounts, reporting income, eligible business expenses, record-keeping, and GST/HST for self-employed agents.
  • Radon Awareness for REALTORS® at noon via Zoom, covering what radon is, why Saskatchewan properties are at higher risk, and how to help clients test and mitigate.

Both are on the SRA portal for registration.

Brokerage Updates

A few notes for the week from the broker’s chair and the marketing team.

FINTRAC High-Risk Indicators

Additional red flags to watch for on any transaction:

  • A series of complicated fund transfers for a deposit that appears designed to obscure the source of funds.
  • A transaction that is unnecessarily complex for its stated purpose.
  • A client who presents notes or financial instruments that are packed, transported, or wrapped in an uncommon way.

SaskTel iPhone 18 Launch

SaskTel is launching the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on Friday, September 18. Stock at launch may be tight, so orders could be delayed. Contact Drew Taylor at Jump.ca for pricing, orders, or SaskTel Mobility questions: drewt@jump.ca or 306-230-3726.

Reaching Ownership

Ownership reminded agents that the fastest way to reach Gary, Tarra, or Laura is through the ownership group chat. One of them will get back to you as soon as possible.

Legal and Compliance Reminders

Cuelenaere LLP is Fusion’s legal partner for real estate transactions. Direct contacts:

Mortgage and Insurance Partners

Fusion works closely with trusted mortgage and insurance partners so agents can hand clients off with confidence.

  • RBC Royal Bank – Geoff Rathgaber: 306-341-2522, geoff.rathgaber@rbc.com. Geoff is currently traveling in Europe, so continue to send transactions to his email address and his team will look after your clients. Please do not text him while he is away.
  • Hepburn Agencies – Landry Klapwijk: 306-220-5030 for home insurance quotes and binders on possession day.

For a broader take on the Saskatchewan economy, Paul Martin’s Business Report on CKOM continues to be a useful weekly listen.

This Week’s Big Event

The 72nd Annual B’nai Brith Silver Plate Dinner, powered by Wiegers Financial & Benefits, is coming up on Tuesday, November 10 at TCU Place in Saskatoon. Tickets are $375 and Fusion will cover $100 of that cost. Women are welcome. Contact Gary if you would like to attend as part of the Fusion table.

Video Caravan Feature Home

This week’s Feature Home Winner from the caravan is 343 Armstrong Way (MLS® SK048097), listed at $549,900 by Dave Price. Caravan agents praised it as very well kept, spacious, and with a beautiful yard.
