Step 1: Complete the Required Education

Phase 1

The first step toward becoming a licensed real estate salesperson or property manager in Saskatchewan is completing an introductory course. This course provides a strong foundation in key areas, including real estate laws in the province, ethical and professional responsibilities, property ownership and title registration, valuation and financing principles, and the fundamentals of agency relationships and contract law.

Phase 2

After successfully finishing Phase 1, students must enroll in the appropriate Phase 2 course(s) based on their intended area of practice in Saskatchewan. Available specializations include:

Step 2: Meet the Eligibility Requirements

Licensed real estate professionals from other provinces who have been active within the past two years may qualify for licensing in Saskatchewan through a reciprocity agreement. The process includes:

  1. Confirming eligibility with the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission (SREC).
  2. Obtaining reciprocity materials from the UBC Sauder School of Business to review Saskatchewan-specific real estate regulations.
  3. Carefully studying the provided materials.
  4. Completing and signing a Declaration Statement.
  5. Submitting the Declaration Statement along with all necessary documents.
  6. Awaiting approval from SREC to finalize registration.
