Consistent Visual Identity, Content Pillars and Engagement
Consistent visual identity. A recognizable brand is built on repetition. Pick a two to three colour palette that matches your personality and target client, lock in one or two fonts, and use the same professional headshot everywhere: your website, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, email signature, and business cards. Keep the same logo placement and photo framing across profiles so a buyer recognizes you instantly when they jump from your listing to your page. Choose one photo filtering style for your feed so the grid reads as a cohesive set rather than a random scrapbook. Consistency does more for recognition than any single viral post.
Content pillars. Build every post around three to four repeating themes so followers always know what they will get. Strong real estate pillars are market expertise (listings, sold announcements, price trends, neighbourhood stats), client stories and social proof (testimonials, closings, thank-you moments), educational tips (buying steps, staging advice, inspection checklists), and lifestyle or team culture (behind the scenes, local favourites, team wins). Apply the 80/20 rule: about 80 percent of your content should add value or build trust, and 20 percent can be direct sales or calls to action. Plan a month at a time around these pillars so your feed stays balanced and you never scramble for a post.
Engagement strategy. Posting is only half the job. Spend equal time being present in your community. Reply to every comment within a few hours and answer direct messages the same day. Comment on local business pages, neighbourhood groups, and other professionals posts with genuine, non-generic replies. Join and contribute to local Facebook groups and community boards rather than treating them as ad space. A target to hold yourself to: 15 to 30 minutes a day of real engagement across your chosen platforms. The accounts that become the local go-to agent are the ones people recognize from the comments as much as the feed.
